Adoption Policy

All Saint Bernards placed through the OK Saint Bernard Rescue branch shall be spayed or neutered before placement.If there is an exception, the dog will be placed in foster care with the intent to adopt until such a time as the dog is altered and the condition is resolved. This way the adopters cannot say that they didn’t know that the dog needed to be altered.

All Saints placed through RESCUE shall be immunized against rabies, given vaccinations against parvovirus, distemper, adenovirus, parainfluenza, and corona virus, wormed, given a heartworm test, and placed on heartworm preventative or treated or heartworm infection as well as microchipped prior to placement.

If a Saint is surrendered to RESCUE with AKC papers, these papers will be returned to AKC with notification that this dog has been spayed/neutered. The AKC form that is owned by one dog can and has been used on another dog. AKC has also been known to change the limited registration to full registration.
